hello, I am hendrika duivenvoorden, a descendant of baron duivenvoorden in the 12th century, who lived in the duivenvoorde castle. I am from australia and I was wondering if the duivenvoorden castle has its own website??? Ah, a bit of genealogy. I like that. I was wondering that the first owner of this castle was Philip van Wassenaer. His decendents built the current castle in the 17th century, then it was inherited through the maternal line and that's when the owners added 'Duivenvoorde' to their name. Interestingly, there's a family that bought the house next door where I lived in Vreeland (province Utrecht) in the 1990s. His name is Van Wassenaer and her name is Schimmelpenninck. Both names very much connected to castle Duivenvoorde!
