Im a single 25 year old female who wants to relocate to a beach area in September of 2007. Im not to familiar with this area but since I was a baby my family and I have been vacationing down in OBX. I love that area but it is to remote for relocation. I recently read that Virginia beach is one of the top places to find a job and the unemployment rate is very low. I am in the hospitality business and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to if VB is the place to move to. I love the water, I scuba dive and I am a very outdoorsy person. I love to hike and take long walks/jogs. Is Virginia Beach right for me?
any idea what the nightlife is like in october? also if anyone would like to hang out have some fun show me what Va beach is about that'll be cool
How long does it take to drive from Norfolk airport to Virginia Beach on an average Friday early afternoon in August? Is the traffic heavy due to beach traffic in the summer?
I wish to know will it be too cold in VA beach around thanks giving. I did call up the visitor center they said its like 60 degree or so and generally its ok. I am travelling with my family(wife and kid) please advise if its ok to travel and enjoy there during this time of the year. any precautions to be taken
Hi travelling from London to VB for 2 weeks next August staying at the Oceanfront Hotel, would like as much info and help as possible about the hotel, the place and things to do, as well as good places to see and where to eat etc. etc. etc. Also if there are any good web sites to pull info from. Thanks in advance.......
Is there an after hours club in va beach that is strictly for bartenders and members. It's suppose to be open until 6am? Anyway just curious and what is the name? thanks
I am writing to see if there are any good barber shops in the Va Beach area. I like to get my hair cut close on the sides (fade) and a light trim on the top. I've only had bad experiences getting my hair cut in that area and am hoping somebody can point me in the right direction to a good barber. Thank you
Will the trolley be going to the ampitheather on Oct 13, 2006?
My fiance's mother took us to VB for our gradaution and I loved it so much I want to go back. I thought New Year's there would be cheaper than New york or DC. Has anyone been there for New Year's?
I'm new to the VA area and have only been to the beach once, when we were there we had to pay to park. I was wondering if there is anywhere around the beach you can park for free. besides the hotels.
Does the Wave Trolley provide transportation from the Courtyard Mariott Oceanfront North at 3737 Atlantic Avenue to the Pavillion Convention Center at 1000 19th Street?
I will be traveling JUly 5th and need to stop in VA beach. Are there any small mom and pop side street motels blocks away from the ocean in the50 range ? Even like sleeping rooms with shared baths etc. Looking for economy but downtown. Thanks !
Which hotel is best to watch fireworks on the 4th. I'm not exactly sure where they shoot them. Thanks!
What is the phone number to Angelo's and George's on Atlantic Ave. and or Ocean Front.
We will be in Virgina Beach the 3rd week of July. I have been going crazy trying to find a nice hotel (on the beach). Being as I have never been there, it is almost impossible to choose somewhere to stay. I will be with my family, which includes a 16-year-old, a 10 and 11-year-old, and my husband. I would really prefer to be close to different activities, but not necessarily in the "heart" of everything. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you so much. Jamie
I'm planning a trip to VA beach in about 3 weeks, and having trouble finding a place to rent located near Sandbridge. I hear its away from the hustle and bustle of the VA beach resort area, and that the two main realitors only rent to family groups only. Does anyone know if that's true or has rented places where you weren't a family group? If so, how did that go? There's going to be a group of us age from 18-25, with me being the oldest. Would they not rent to me because we're students and not a family group? We're planning on just renting a place there as a place we can come back to after a long day of site seeing. No wild parties, etc. I'm having trouble finding a place to put us all in (15 people or so), does anyone have suggestions for Sandbridge locations or locations near VA beach that would accommadate 15 people at a fairly low budget? lol, we're students afterall. :)
Hi, we are the Work and Travel exchange students and we come to live and work to Virgina Beach this year. In the mean time we are in search of a place to rent. Better to be an 2bedroom appartament. The area is not a big deal but better to be at the beachside or Hilltop Do you guys have anything on the mind? Any help is greatly appreciated. Mary

We are planning to travel to VA Beach in August. We have a 7 and 9 year old. I am trying to pick a place to rent. Sandbridge looks beautiful. How far away is it from the boardwalk and activities and what is the best way to get around? Is it best to take the trolly and if so where do we park? What are some good restaurants and family activities to do. We are already planning to go to Jamestown and Bush Gardens is that about an 1hr away from Sandbridge?
Is there a way to go from VA BEACH to NORFOLK without using the tunnel?
Greetings, I posted this question before but I don't know where the heck it went. Anyway, I currently live in Charlotte, NC and need to get the hell out. I relocated here from Chicago 2 years ago after a layoff and although I've grown to love the South, I miss the diversity, art, food and culture of the North. Now that my job, which is the main reason that I've remained here, my be downsized in the next couple of months, I've started to look to other southern cities as viable relocation options. I've heard great things about southern VA and would like to get some feedback. I work in community corrections with an emphasis on substance abuse prevention. I'm 46, single, african-american, female, childless, artistic and pretty liberal in my spirituality and politics. If you can shed some light on the MD/VA area, I'd appreciate it. I probably need to make a decision by the end of July. Thanks!
I am visiting Virginia Beach April 8-17 and would love to play some tennis. Where can I find a club or court with some players? I play regularly at the 3.0 to 3.5 USTA level. Thanks, Anita www.anitavestal.net

Hi there. Im looking for a hotel, Searching through the lists Its pretty hard having never been to Virginia beach so Im setting down the challenge to fellow forum members... based on the information below.. can anyone provide some advice and possible accomodation to investigate. we would be there first week of august There will be approx 4-6 people All boys We are aged between 26 and 28 and all come from London , England We are planning to spend a week in Virginia beach We like sports, would like a pool at the hotel, Doesnt necessarily need to be on the waterfront, but would like to be able to walk to the beach We like golf We like to go out... and would prefer a younger/single orientated accomodation as will be out most nights to the bars partying etc. We are looking for moderate accomodation... say 150 bucks per room (2 beds) per night. thats about it.. hope the information stimulates some of the locals into having a think and making our stay in virginia beach as memorable as possible!! Oh and if you want to toss in any unusual places to go things to do.. I would love ya forever. Richie

I've only lived here a short time, and have been trying to find a good after hours club. I went with a friend to a place called Shakespeare's, and it wasn't bad, but there was some kind of membership thing and I don't have any idea how to become a member so can't go back. Please help, I'm just a new girl trying to find the good times!

Hi I am traveling to virginia Beach May 11 to May 16th with my family. Is this a good time to visit? How is the weather in May? Are the shops open and the amusement park on the boardwalk? Where would you suggest a good place to stay with 2 small kids that is cheap and ocean front. I would appreciate anything else too. Thank You.
