We'll be in Vilnius mid June. Has anyone taken the train from Vilnius to Minsk? What are they like? On time? Safe? What are the border regulations like? I've heard one can hire a sleeper compartment as well for an additional price. Is this correct, and has anyone had any experience they'd like to share?
What is the best time to visit, between June and September, in terms of concerts and street markets?

Hi! Flying Doncaster to Vilnius return. Printed off boarding cards for outward journey, No problem, but for return journey, only allowed to print off 7 days prior to departure. (other airlines that I use regularly offer 15 day prior to departure service) so has never been a problem. We fly out on Saturday, and return 7 days later, but don't have access to a printer, so will have to do this in Vilnius. ( I usually (sneakily) do this at work! Stopping at Hotel Conti - will reception staff be able to print off boarding cards - if so, is there a charge, or is it usual to offer a tip? Or are there Internet cafes with printer service? If so, can anyone tell me which ones. Sorry, this is new to me, usually got all sorted before I depart, and not been to Lithuania before. Don't want to have to pay hefty charges at airport for not having boarding card printed off for return journey, or stressing out trying to find where we can print off boarding card. The other alternative is going into work on Saturday to do this as a last minute thing, which I prefer not to do ;-) Any help appreciated!

Hi All, Two of my friends and I are planning to travel to Vilnius for a long weekend during end of August, and when looking around for accommodation we came across this site: www.myvilniusapartments.com My question is,.. are such apartments safe? Has anyone had any bad experiences of having paid online and then when you arrive there is no one there or things are delayed and/or not as promised? Would we be better off in a hotel, seeing as things are quite cheap anyways? We are three boys and the idea is to enjoy the culture by day and party by night. We thought with an apartment, if we made some local friends, we could bring them back to the apartment and have some house parties... Was told on another forum that most of these apartments, if not all of them, are normal, regular apartments with full time "regular" residents who may not take kindly to a lads weekend of party in the neighbouring flat. Anyone know of "holiday" specific self serviced apartments? ,..or at least a block where quite a lot of the apartments are for holidaymakers and short term lets? ...barring that, looks like a hotel is the best bet. Thanks in advance! :-) K

Hi Everyone, I've finally figured out my route for my trip in July. I'll start off in Vilnius and then take the bus to Riga and then take another bus to Tallinn. I've heard that there is no train between these cities anymore and that buses are more convenient. Is that true? If so, I'm wondering what bus company to use and what the bus schedule would be like. Are there buses between these cities everyday? How many hours would it take to go from one city to another? How much are the bus fares? Are there taxis outside these bus stations so I could go to my hotels from the bus stations? Thank you
Help! There are 12 30+ blokes decending on Lithuania in the middle of Feb for 2 nights - We will be based in Kaunas but want something fun to do on the Saturday in Vilnius (probably after too many drinks on the Friday) any suggestions?

Hello Everyone We are flying to Vilnius on 8th September but I am unable to find any website/information on how to get to our hotel from the Airport. We are arriving at 0135 ( which is actually morning of the 9th September ) so thats a funny time but we chose it because the flight arriving at this time was the cheapest. We are staying at Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva which is situated on 'Konstitucijos pr. 20, ,LT-09308 ,Vilnius,Lithuania' but Google hasn't been very helpful on how to get there from the airport at that time of the night. Yes there are taxis but 50LTL is a bit too much for us so would rather prefer public transport or any cheaper option, if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Besides, if there are any VTs who would like to meet up ( we are staying in Vilnius for 9th and 10th September before moving on to Riga ), that will be a pleasure. We are aged 27 and 28, hoping to see as much of Vilnius as possible. Many thanks in advance
