Hi, Will be visiting Vilnius for two days in the next couple of days. Staying at the Hotel Conti. A couple of quick quesitons if I may. 1. Any decent restaurants nearby the hotel? 2. How much will a taxi cost from the airport to the Hotel? (It's quite near the centre.) 3. How much for a half-litre of finest Lithuanian beer? 4. And can you buy Karums? (These are cheesecake-ish chocolate bars. We found them in Latvia and Estonia. My girlfriend loves them.) Regards Jason
Hi, prices in Lithuania are aproximatelly same, like in Tallinn, but cheaper than Riga. Of course, depends, to wich restaurant or pub you go. But price for half liter of beer is less than two euro for sure. It can be from 4 to 7 litas. To hotel you will pay aprox. 20 litas for taxi, but you should call taxi to airport, because these, what you get near arrival hall, they are more expencive than normaly. Almoust double price. You can call taxi by telephones : +370 5 2105555 or +370 5 2333333. It will take few minutes, but you will pay less. Or you should ask taxi drivers (who are waiting in airport) how much it will cost to get to your hotel. I think, that you mean Latvian produkt Karums. I am almost sure, that you can find it in Maxima markets. I think that we have something similar - cake Danutes pyragas. Have a nice trip, and for restaurants go to downtown ;-)
