Going to Villefranche this Thursday (10th May) - My idea of transfer from Nice airport to Villefranche would simply be to get a bus from the airport to the train station in Nice and then get a train to Villefranche (our apartment is only a short walk from Villefranche station). However it seems there are different ways of doing this journey. A taxi is out because they are far too expensive. Any advice ?
My husband and I and three kids (ages 14,12,9) are arriving in Villefranche via cruise ship on July 2. We are in port for 12 hours. We hope to see VF, Nice and Monaco. Do you suggest getting a driver, taking the bus or taking the train. We have never been to Europe and this is very new to us, thus ANY suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I am looking for a good location to spend a weekend away with my husband in June. I am looking for nice pavement bars where we can sit and people watch (perfection would be in a nice old town square),a bit of local shopping, nice local restaurants, bit of sunbathing etc. Do you think Villefranch-Sur-Mer fits the bill? What would you do if you had a weekend to spend in Villefrance-sur-Mer? Thank you VTers!

Hello, I will be arriving by cruise to Villefranche on July 30th at 7am. I would like to go by bus or train to Montecarlo/Monaco departing the port at 8:00am. Around 10:30am I would like to go to Eze (old town). Around 1pm I would like to go to Nice (old town). Finally around 5:30pm I would like to go back to the port at Villefranche. Could you please tell me where can I catch each bus/train? The bus number for each route? the schedule? and the cost? Thank you in advance for your help! Sabine
Hey people! This summer I'm going to go to Villefranche-sur-Mer and I want to take a train to Monaco. Can someone please tell me where's the train station, what's the ticket's price, how many minutes are between Villefranche-sur-Mer to Monaco, more or less the train's timetable and where's the station of Monaco? I just have one day to visit Monaco, so I wanna visit lots of things. Thank you very very very much for your attention. Best regards =)
I'm a first time cruiser and the prices for the land shore excursions are expensive. Is it far to walk from the port to the train station and then in what order would you recommend seeing these towns if possible by train. Nice, Monte Carlo, French riviera, Monaco, cannes, Do you recommend we see anything else. thanks for you help. We have only 8 hours.
Good morning, I will be taking a trip to Villefranche-Sur-Mer in June and had a few questions. First, we will be taking a day trip to Monte Carlo, and I was wondering if I will be allowed to take my camera into the beautiful casino there? In America, cameras are not allowed in casinos. If I can't take my camera in, will there be storage so I can go in without my camera? Also, I am not rich... Am I going to look like an idiot if I go into the casino and try to play blackjack for 10 to 20 Euros per hand? I do not know the table minimums there. Second, my girlfriend really wants to take a day trip into Italy, and I was hoping someone knew the best places to go that would still be close enough to VSM to go and come back in one day. Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it. Allan
