6 of us, who enjoy hiking, are considering spending a week in villars some time during august of 2010. Is it a good venue or purely a ski resort? Also what is the weather like in august ?
We (mum/dad + 4 kids) stayed there, in August, some years ago at Alpe Des Chaux which is a ski resort above Villars -it a very beautiful area. At the slightly higher altitude the weather was perfect - lots of walks suitable for young families. Hope to go again. We thought the local prices were high and so made two trips into France Evian/Thonon where we bought groceries / petrol and enjoyed the day out swimming in Lac Leman
