Hi, Going for a whole new experience this Christmas, skiing in Kransjgora Slovenia (cant spell it) . Have booked flights to Salzburg and was hoping to take the train via Villach. However can only find trains running up unitl 9th December , I need 23rd December. Anyone know if they run or best route or where to find out? Alternatively, if we hire a car from Salzburg or Villach - how are the roads that time of year? Many thanks to those who have a reply. Sue
The trains will be running past 9 December, believe me. It would be strange if a major rail line would suddenly stop operating. However there is an annual schedule change mid-December, and the schedules after that are not published yet. Don´t expect them to change much though.

We had the same problem when looking up the train timetable for Venice to Vienna for the 23rd December last year. I emailed OEBB (Austrian Railways) for the schedule and was able to book the tickets via email. Their email address is wien.ticketline@pv.oebb.at.
