We are visiting Vigo via cruise ship in September. We usually like local tours better then the ship's. Does anyone have any suggestions for local tours, or would we be safer to take a ship tour. How long a bus ride is it to Compostella, please. Thank you for any suggestions. Mary
It's 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela by train, and of course you would have to get yourselves from the ship to the station and from the station in Santiago to the centre, whereas the ship tour would include all of that and give you explanations - depending on price, you could just use it for the transport and go off on your own if you don't want to see the sights with the group (provided you tell them before you go off, and make sure you know what time you need to be back at the coach, and where). I'm afraid there's no link to the bus station on here but there's a phone number if for some reason you don't want to go by train vigo.org/nomapa/comochegar.p... Here's some information on Vigo and a great map http://www.infocruceros.com/vigo.asp
