Help with travel plans from Haiphong to Cat Ba

Can any one help us with the best way to Get from Haiphong airport to cat ba We are a couple aged 60 and have large luggage with us.would we go to Halong City and then get a boat to Cat Ba,or get the hydrofoil from Haiphong. If the Hydrofoil does anyone know the times they leave,we arrive in Haiphong at about 9.25am on the 15th Sept. any advise would be helpful Thanks Jean
