My wife and I will be in Vienna on 19 December, when Austria Wien plays Ried, and we are thinking about going to the game.
Are tickets easy to get, and how much would they cost?
Also, how safe is it?
Is it dangerous for a couple to go to the game, and to and from the stadium?

Hi Dear Colleagues,
I’m going to spend the Epiphany of 2014 in Vienna, Austria. Can anybody tell me how Austrians celebrate Epiphany in Vienna? Is there any parade of Three Magi and their entourage? If yes where can I get additional info on that subject?
And question number two is going to be are visitors allowed to take noncommercial photos without flashlight and tripod in the Stift Klosternoeburg. I mean Augustinian Abby near Vienna. Please, don’t spend yours time advise me to send a message to monastery. I just would like to get that info from the people who visited the place and had personal experience.
Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.
Anyone interested in meeting for a Glühwein, for dinner, a walk of the town, Christmas market visits, or whatever? I'll be in Vienna for a convention from Nov 28 to Dec 1 (but completely occupied during that period) and have extended my stay, so I have two free days to play with: December 2 and 3. I'd like activities to involve some Christmas markets and Advent flair, open to (almost!) any suggestions. Is anyone around?
(Tried to post this in the meeting section but somehow the system does not accept it, so I thought I'd ask here first.)
I want to go to Vienna in early april or early may. Which would be the best per air cost and weather
I want to know the fastest and cheapest mode of everyday travel between Vienna, Austria and Zilina, Slovakia. The distance is about 300kms. I would like to know bus services or cheap cab transfers.
Are there Christmas markets in Grinzing? Are there any special Christmas festivities on Christmas day?
Sorry to ask this question again but I was informed that there are various construction works in Vienna so it is important for us to know the name of the train station where the train from Budapest stops.
Myself and my partner are hoping to travel between Vienna and Budapest next year (we are flexiable at the moment which we fly into and which we fly out of) - from the 15th to 22nd February.
We would like to spend a few nights in each place but would also like to stop at other places of interest along the way and spend a night or so in them. We will be travelling by public transport.
Would anyone be able to advise us of places that might be good to stop over please. Also is there are any local festivals or celebrations around these areas at this time that might be interesting to go to that would also be something we would be very interested in.
We also like walking and cycling - so if anyone has any advice of great places to do this it would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
What activity or playground do you recommend for us close to Westbanhof area?

I will be spending a week in Vienna before taking the train to Passau to bicycle the Donaufahrradweg trail back to Vienna.
I would like to leave a suitcase in a locker in Vienna for this portion of my Austrian vacation. Are lockers available at the largest Youth Hostel or train stations in Vienna?
We will be arriving at Westbahnhof train station for Budapest on a Sunday noon. We have hotel reservations for the same 3 nights at a hotel adjacent to that station and to one close the the Opera. We will have to stay at the Westbahnof hotel (Motel One) for at least the first night, because it is closer to the Steinhof church than is the hotel near the Opera (the only time we can see the inside of that church is Sunday afternoon, 12:00-15:00).
We could then move on to the hotel closer to the Opera area on Monday, for our last 2 nights in Vienna, or we could stay at Motel One and commute into the Karlplatz station area each day. Question: if we decide to stay at Motel One all 3 nights, will it take so long a time to get into the Karlplatz area every day that we'll wish we changed hotels?
It will be my first visit to Vienna, any suggestion, any recommendation of hotel and Halal food restaurant, places of visits.
Hi there, just wondering if anyone could give good recommendations for the best restaurants that are reasonably priced in the area. Any details or tips about food would be greatly appreciated (pricing, tips, customs, reservations, etc).
My husband and I will arrive in Vienna from Budapest. We would like to ask where the bus or the train stops in Vienna in order to see how long it's going to take us to walk to our hotel (in Innere Stadt).
I am planning a trip with my mom to Vienna (3 nights - 5-8 Sept), Salzbug (1 night - 9 Sept) and Munich (4 nights - 10-13 Sept). I have a rough idea of what I am doing on these days, in these places. I need some recommendation on train tickets. I did some research online & concluded the below:
Vienna to Salzburg - take the Westbahn on the day of travel, which is slightly expensive than OBB (25 vs 19) however, OBB is also showing (online) as Eur 49 for both me & my mom? we are in Salzburg for a day only, hence would like to make the most of it.
Salzburg to Munich - was adviced to take regional train, whose prices don't change if you are buying in advance or same day.
My question - should I buy tickets online? I know what dates I want to travel.
I want to visit Italy for 2 weeks. I will arrive to Vienna on Thursday August 29th at 7 pm. I would like to start my trip from Naples, Rome, Florence, Milan and Venice. I want this itinerary because i have to return to Vienna to take my flight home on Sep 12 at 10 am. I was looking for flights from vienna to Naples after 8 pm without success. There is an option to take a train from vienna to naples at 22:30 pm but it is a long journey. I am thinking seriously to start my trip from north to south instead south to north, in that case i have to flight from naples to vienna. What would you recomend to do?
Thanks for your advises.

We will staying in Vienna for 3 nights in October 2013 and looking for recommendations for accommodation. We are wanting a double room close to the train station as we will be arriving and departing by train. It doesn't have to be fancy, just neat and clean - as we intend to be out most of the time - preferably with our own ensuite bathroom. Any advice on hotels and on Vienna itself would be most appreciated.
I'll be visiting Vienna for 3 days, 2 nights & want to know what is a must see? is it worth taking a day and spending it @ the countryside? is so, where is easily accessible via Eurail or local train?
