Hi! I'm from Macedonia and i'm looking forward on studying in Vienna, because it has great universities. But i want to know more about the life there, if anyone can tell me something about it that would be kind. I want to know is this city very expensive or not, also about the nightlife are there night clubs to go out and have fun, tell me more about the life there please :)

I have lived in Vienna for couple of months only (internship), but yes, it is an expensive city. Frankly, I didn't have much time to spend at clubs as my days were packed with work, but nightlife seemed to be only mediocre, and lousy when compared to e.g. Berlin. There will be places where you can hang out, but I for one was enjoying cuisine much more than nightlife when I was there. Other than that, Vienna is a very liveable city that seems to always rank top on "best places to live" surveys. You'll enjoy it there, no doubt about that.

Welcome here on VT! Sorry, but, since you post a question about nightlife in Vienna and do not ask about the University of Vienna itself(official language, tuition fees, the faculty you are interested in, conditions needed for subscription, visa, student house)apart from the cost of living there, I am afraid that you have to think seriously about it once more!

bakalapoe, That's probably because the original poster already has the information or will contact the university to obtain them. Nothing wrong with asking questions concerning costs of living and nightlife; this is a travel related forum after all.

Vienna is not cheap, lunch special (usual soup and a meat dish) about € 6, Big Mac € 3, main course in the evening from € 6, sausage and bread at a sausage stand from € 2,20, half liter beer or quarter liter wine or coke from € 3 but much more in night clubs. Nightlive is not as good as Berlin, but allright, places for young people are usualy very late (11 pm to 5 am)

If you can work legaly its not very difficult to find work, as long as you speak some german and are not to fussy. It should be also possible to find work illegaly, but you must be aware of the risks, like getting deported or not getting payed...
