Vienna Accommodation

by Judiz Online Now Nov 14, 2010 at 4:02 AM

Hiya I will be in Vienna for 3 nights in February and am looking for relatively cheap accommodation for 3 adults in a central location. Hostel is OK. We are finding it difficult to work out the best location to stay, as having never been there we dont have our bearings. Thanks in advance for your help. Judi...ps..if hostel accommodation we would prefer one with private rooms.

I've been in Vienna last year in June and we were also 3 adults. We've booked a triple room at Pension Suzanne (www.pension-suzanne.at), just across the opera, that's as much central as you can get in Vienna. You can walk to the major attractions. The building is very uncharacteristic but the room was very good (3 individual beds) with a kitchen. Since Vienna is quit expensive this can be a very good option to save some money.

I stayed at the Happy Hostel in Vienna. My Mum came out to meet me and didn't really fancy a hostel so we went in the middle; a private twin room sharing a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. It had great facilities in the kitchen, we went to a near by supermarket and cooked, dining table and tv too. It is very near the Westbahnhof and a short walk down Marishilfe Strasse to the main areas of attraction. You can get more independant reviews from hostelworld.com hostelworld.com/hosteldetail... They do have private triple rooms with shared facilities.

I visited Vienna for the first time a few weeks ago ... and Neubau (Vienna's 7th district) is great if you are seeking a reasonably priced place to stay. Because of the terrific underground metro, it is quick and convenient to get into the city center. Personally, I stayed in a single room at the Hotel Pension Walzerstadt for 49 Euros per night -- and I loved it. One warning ... I wouldn't venture past the Gürtel in search of a cheap place to stay. The Gürtel is a very busy road ... and the neighborhood around it is a bit seedy. As long as you stay inside of it, though, you should be okay. Hope you enjoy your trip to Vienna!

I stayed at the Lucia once. I presently returned from at this hotel. I had been going around Vienna and had had fantastic resort incidents - until now.
