hi..we are planning to go to versailles this summer. i jst want to ask if anyone here knows how to get to versailles the easiest(most convenient) way from brussels or do we really have to pass by paris first and go by train from there? thanks :)
Yes, you will need to get to Paris first... After all, that's where Versailles is. You take one of the regular Thalys services to Paris (they run every half hour) and change to the RER there. From Brussels South to Versailles Rive Gauche Chateau will take you about 2 1/2 hours. See www.bahn.de for timetables.

It depends on the time of year also. In late Fall and winter the gardens are not as nice as in Spring, summer and early... more
