Dear members, I need help to locate hotels/B&B within or close to city centre in Dec. A double room for about Euro 60 realistic? Is driving in the city a problem? Thanks ann
It is better to find a parking area for your car in Verona. You can go to the main places in town easily by foot. The train station is not far from the centre of Verona. About accomodation search on "www.venere.com"

Hi Ann (e ciao Maurizio) Probably the best option in the very center of the town is the hotel Il Torcolo http://www.hoteltorcolo.it/ With a lot of good review on VT and tripadvisor and, over all, for friends who were there. In that case, forget the car (park it at The Arena parking, a few (500) meters south of the Arena. Probably not 60, but not much more. A very nice (but not so cheap) B&B, just a few meters out from the historical center, is Il Piccolo Principe turismo.regione.veneto.it/it... A very cheap and nice one, but far from the city center (good only if you have a car and are ready to drive downtown every time) is Ca' del rocolo http://www.cadelrocolo.com/ In a wondeful position on the hill overlooking Verona... seems to be in another planet but only 8 km from the center. Driving in Verona? Not so bad... just beware than before dec 13th (St. Lucy) and Xmas (all december, in fact), on saturday-sunday afternoon, the traffic reaches very bad levels.... Ciao Francesco

Hotel Monaco costs around 60 euros, check for it on my Verona page. I am regularly visiting Verona and it is the hotel where I stay. The hotel is very well located, easy to get it from the highway A4 and easy to get the historic centre from its position.

Dear members, Thanks very much to all. Hotel Monaco is not Euro 60 anymore, i checked some websites, it's about 74 + 6 parking.. BAM! It exceeds our budget! I'm waiting reply from Cadelrocolo B&B, it looks quite nice and not too far from the city centre. Will keep you all posted. thanks ann
