We are spending a few days on the beach at Lido di Jesolo before crusing from Venice. Apart from a taxi which I am told costs around €150, is there a way to get to the Cruise Terminal by sea. As the crow flies it's much nearer than the circuitous route by road. Have tried various travel web sites and venice transport sites without success. I understand we can get bus to Punta Sabbione, but us there a water bus to the cruise terminal from there? Any info would be much appreciated.
Have you looked at : http://www.actv.it/en If you clcik on the map at Punta Sabbioni it will show you ferries and times etc. Plus on map you can see route.

You will need the vaporetto (water-bus) from P Sabbioni to Piazzale roma. This is where all land traffic stops in Venice, and from where the 'people-mover' to Marittima (the main cruise terminal) leaves. If you need to get to San Basilio cruise terminal, then you need san Basilio stop. Both routes require a change of vaporetto, sometimes with quite a wait between boats so it can take an hour or so. You can also take an ATVO bus from Lido di Jesolo direct to Piazzale Roma, in Venice. From there you can take a 'people-mover' to the cruise terminal (assuming you mean the main one, Marittima). Timetables here: atvo.it/index.php?lang=it&ar... Click on the clock next to route 10A. This is not an ordinary bus, by the way...it is the type which has a hold f=or bags etc.

Yep - Leics is correct (of course) and I can verify as we stayed in L-D-J a few years back and travelled-in most days. Check times etc but its about 1 hour from L-D-J to St Marks. Then I guess a further 20 mins to the cruise ships.

Thank you to all. I think we'll opt for the bus to P. Roma, less chopping and changing, though the sea crossing would have been more of an experience!

Have to say I'd do the same if travelling with bags...
