Bon soir! My friend & I will be visiting Nice at the beginning of August for 4 nights & want to stay at a decent, but reasonably priced hotel with a pool, close to Promenades des Anglais, must have 2 beds! Any suggestions would be great! Merci! Carla :D
Bus from Monte Carlo to Menton...What is the name of the closest bus stop I would get off at to visit the Basilica Saint Michel and old town in Menton.
Where would I catch a bus back to Monte Carlo port from the basilica?
Are we best suited to secure private transportation or is there a public mode to consider? Thanks for any knowledge you have!
I am flying into Nice airport with my partner for a one week holiday booked to stay at Hotel Sainte Valerie in Juan Les Pins. Could anyone advise on how best to travel ie bus or train & costs involved. We plan to travel at the end of September so unsure if that affects regularity of services due to being out of season. Thank you in advance.
We will be based in Avignon last week of August and will not have a car. We would like to book a day tour to Pont Du Garde and the hill towns of Luberon.
Suggestions and comments from those of you who have used a tour company are Welcome .

I think I should take the shuttle from the airport to the bus station at Gare Saint Charles
and then a Ligne 34 bus to Port Saint Louis.
Can any kind person confirm this ? and supply an estimate regarding journey time, cost and frequency.

Does the Eurostar go from London to Saintes Maries de la Mer
Our river cruise ends in Arles and we have a flight booked that day (a Thursday) from Marseilles to Paris. Can we take a taxi from the cruise port to the train station and buy the train tickets when we get there? Is there a manned ticket window or just machines for tickets? Our flight doesn't leave until 1:40 pm and by looking at the train schedule it looks like there are a few morning trains that travel that route.
My husband, 2 sons (17 and 12), and I will be arriving into Nice from the United States at around 11:30 am near the end of July and staying in the French Riviera and Aix en Provence for 6 days before we head to the Italian Riviera. We would like suggestions on how to divide up the trip.
We would like to drive to Aix (inland route) and stop at some of the little towns along the way. We hear it is a beautiful drive, especially this time of year. On the way back to Nice, we also want to hit some of the smaller towns like Cassis. Of course, we will want to visit Antibes, Cannes, St. Tropez, St. Paul de Vence, Menton, Monaco, etc. We have been told that it is not smart to try to drive East on the Coast of Nice at this time of year due to traffic, so we were planning to take trains.
We think we will be too tired to drive when we arrive the first night. We had originally been planning to stay the first night in Nice, then drive to Aix for 2 nights, then back to Nice as our home base for 3 more nights.
Our second plan was to spend the first night in Antibes, the next 2 nights in Aix, and the remaining 3 nights in Nice.
Now that I started looking into accommodations, I remember the reason we usually rent apartments, so I am thinking maybe we should stay in Nice for 3 nights and then Aix for 3 nights or perhaps Nice for 4 nights and then Aix for 2 nights.
Because I have never been to any of these places, I was hoping that someone might have suggestions.
We like eating, shopping (unique items--not T-shirts and not brand name items), little towns, people watching, tourist attractions, art (but not so much museums), and eating (higher end). (Of course, if anyone has any "can't miss" experiences, we welcome those as well. I am just beginning my research.) We will likely go to the beach once or twice for an hour or two, but it is definitely not the focus of our trip.
Any recommendations on how to best divide up our time given your knowledge of the area--traffic, transportation, our interests, time of year, etc.?
I am planning an itineraryin France, and I found out a very cheap train that goes from the train station at Disneyland to: Marseille, Avignon or Montepllier (10euros each) I think it is a good way to get closer to Spain for a few euros, so I am considering to spend a day in Marseille. Is it worth the visit? I would also like to see Cracassonne since I will be in the south of France. Any other place you suggest?
I'm thinking of staying in Nice for a week this summer. I've been to the French Riviera before and visited Cannes, Monaco, and Nice. I was wondering if there are other interesting spots to visit this time around as I don't want to revisit the same places again. I will have a car while there so that's not a problem. I love cute coastal cities with sandy beaches but also nice hills overlooking the sea.
All suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks in advance :-)
