Hello, How to reach Vatican city from Pantheon? And secondly i am keen on visting the sistine chapel...Is it necessary to but tickets for vatican museum also?
You will have to buy the Vatican Museum ticket - mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/MV_... It will take you about 25 minutes to walk, if you can resist stopping along the way.

the sistine chapel is a long walk from the entrance to the vatican museum - and as the other replier said - you have to buy a ticket for the whole museum

i have been trying to find a bus route for you - there would be a bus - your nearest stop to the pantheon is Largo argentina - but i can't find a simple web site for buses in rome but once you are there if you would like to get public transport ask at your hotel - or at one of the green info booths dotted around the city - there is one outside termini

The easiest way to reach Vatican City fron the Pantheon is to walk. It's not far at all and you can stop in Pze. Navona for some sightseeing on the way. We're seniors and had no trouble at all walking that short distance. You see so much on the way it is really the best way to go. Enjoy your trip.
