I am artist & have been learning Russian language with intention to re-locate to 0dessa - but politics in Ukraine have spoilt my plans, so now I consider different place...I was in Varna in February & it reminded me of 0dessa - is there a local person who knows this city, who can tell me the truth about the place? I would like to know if there is still a ferry between Varna & 0dessa? I understand it only operated during tourist season - if you know about this, please let me know what is ticket price, in Lev?

How are you supposed to buy a ticket for the autobus to 0dessa from Varna? (When I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, I found 3 ticket agents advertising service to 0dessa, but all were shut @14:00 - when do shops open in Bulgaria?)

Hi, I'm stocking up for a house party and everyone likes red wine. Any guidance as to the good value local wines would be appreciated, and also good places to buy! If I'm buying 10 or 12 cases, would it be a good idea to go direct to one of the vineyards? Wines that we like are medium to full bodied reds. Tempranillo, rioja, barolo, cab sav's some merlots. Any guidance welcome!

Hi We are going to travel to Varna on 9th September for a week. Is the weather suitable for swimming in that period of time ? or it will be too cold to get tan and enjoy the beach ? Hi, my husband and I are travelling to Varna next week on july 8th, I've been checking the weather during the past couple of days and it seems it's been raining all this time in Varna. I was wondering if it really is a good time? anyways we have booked the hotel and bought the tickets so I guess it's to late, but it's good to know how the weather's gonna be like and what clothing to bring.

Hi, I am trying to find out whether the ferry service from Odessa to Varna still runs. The latest info (2006!) says that there is one from Odessa on a Friday at 13.00 (arr Varna 22.00). Does anybody know? And final question - can anyone recommend somewhere to stay in Varna? Thankyou!

There seems to be a bus from Varna to Bucharest via Mangalia that leaves at 6:30 and arrives in Bucharest at 12:45. Are there any better alternative routings for this journey which I plan to make on Thursday, July 8th? Thanks

i will be working in popovo in august, and may want to go out on a weekend, burgas takes ages but varna is not that far away, if we got the train, how close is it to the bars and clubs? or would it be better to get a bus?

Hi everyone planning our first visit to Golden Sands this August with my husband and 18 yr old daughter. We have looked at lots of hotels and are still undecide where to stay. The Orchidea Boutique Spa looks and sounds lovely but would like a bit more information on the place and the surrounding area as there are not many reviews on Trip Advisor. Also is it as reasonable to eat out in Golden Sands as people say??? How much spending money would you need for an average day for three adults ?? ( Staying B&B) We're not very big drinkers but would like to do a bit of sight seeing...... any suggestions for places to visit within easy reach?? Thanks in advance

I have a villa at Spirko Lozeta between Balchick and Slatna Ribka and want to get a bus from the main road to Kranevo and back again. We have used the Albena bus many times and then taxi from there but I believe I should be able to use the Balchick Varna bus does anybody know if this bus stops in Kranevo and can I just stop it at any bus stop on the main road Laura

I am planning a trip with my 2 year old son to Sunny Beach Bulgaria. Due to poor flight times from UK, I am considering flying to Sofia then getting a bus to Varna and onto Sunny Beach. Could anyone advise a good stop over about half way between Sofia and Varna to spend the night so as to break up the journey and see more of traditional Bulgaria. Thanks
