I would like to know the bus schedule to go from Varna to Bucharest on either 10 or 11 of July. Thanks
As far as I can see there's only one direct bus service between Varna and Bucharest at the moment, the AtlasTrans 5.50 am departure on Mondays and Fridays. However there's probably other services during the summer that the timetables haven't been posted for yet. Alternatively there are several services to Ruse and from there you can easily get a bus onwards to Bucharest. The Varna bus station website is www.autogaravn.com It's in Bulgarian but if you don't recognise Cyrillic then install Google toolbar which translates it fine. Also you could get the train. There are two connecting services daily from Varna, changing at Ruse - the 0915 and the 2200. Both involve a couple of hours at Ruse. Through tickets can be bought in Varna from the Rila office on ul Preslav or at the station. www.bdz.bg

During the previous summers there was also a direct train from Varna to Bucharest every day that left Varna in the afternoon and reached Bucharest around midnight. I have no idea about prices (probably around 15-20 euro one way and less than double for a return). The timetables are not online yet. I suggest that you check bdz-rila.com/index.php?m=960... maybe around June to see the updated version with the seasonal summer routes. Or just go to the train station and ask. There is no way to book the tickets online, but normally there is no need either.
