we are travelling into Varansi on the Rajdhani Express in mid January 07 but when going on to Kolkata would like a train that leaves at a reasonable hour (not 1.45 am) so am searching the Indian Railways site. Doon Express and Howrah Mail come up. If we went 2AC are these trains OK? Any other suggestions? We are a couple of seniors who would like a degree of comfort and privacy. Thanks Diane.
2AC is perfectly fine... i guess you don't need that much privacy (for 1st Class).... Though Howrah Mail is fine, it is not as fast as Rajdhani.. so if you are looking to safe some time, you can take a Rajdhani. You'll be able to check the schedules at : www.indiarail.gov.in or irctc.co.in

Rajdhani Does not stop at Varnasi Check the train you are likely to take for landing at Varnasi 3306 ASR-HWH has both 2AC and AC Iclass 3010 Doon has only 2AC Both are acceptable trains and I would 2AC for comfort and Safety
