Is anyone travelling from Toronto to Varadero May/June 2013?

Hi, I am planning to go to Cuba for my honeymoon. We plan to spend 4 nights in Havana & 6 nights in Varadero in May 2013.

1> In Havana, whats better in terms of quality & location between Iberostar Parque & Nacional De Cuba ?

2> Which is the ideal resort in Varadero - lots of choices but can't decide eg. Paradisus Princessa Del Mar, Iberostar Varadero etc.

Please advise. Any additional tips would be great. Thanks

so im heading back to varadero in march (25th) for 2 weeks. getting very excited. whose all gona be around???? im going by myself. i went by myself last time aswell though wasnt bad at all lol its hard to find people with passports... but yea i had a great time anyway. but it would be nice to meet some people so let me no if your gona be around :)

i finally did it, i.e. i booked my flight to go to CUBA for the holidays. i will be leaving Montreal to VARADERO on DECEMBER 21 (arriving at 9pm) and returning to Montreal from VARADERO on JANUARY 5 (leaving at 12h25pm). i am planning on staying in 'CASAS PARTICULARES' in VARADERO on the first 2 nights (december 21 and december 22) and on the last 2 nights (january 3 and january 4) because of my flights. SO, for the other 11 nights, can i wait until i get there to book the rooms? i have not planned everything yet, but i was thinking of going to the west to do some biking, maybe going to Trinidad. also going to the playas del este. and i thought of spending DECEMBER 31 in LA HAVANA. does that seem like a good plan? thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi! There is some local bus from Varadero airport to the hotels? ( to calle 17) or only cab (taxi?)... how much it cost, and how can i pay it if i take euro with me? should i change euro to CUC, or how it is? thank you, Bali

I just returned from a week stay in Varadero Cuba and had an amazing time. I couldn't get enough of the great music there and as I try to look for some of the songs online I am not finding the style of what I was hearing there. Can anyone suggest a good place to find some music or know some titles I can look up? Thanks.

Hi Wondering if Varadero, Cuba would be an ideal place to be during end if June. And also wondering if that time of year is risky for hurricanes? What types of important things to pack for trip? What things can you or cannot bring back through customs/ airport in Cuba? Thanks.

If anyone is travelling to Varadero in the next while from the Toronto area please let me know. My Cuban friends are in desparate need of cloth diapers and I would like to send them before our next trip in March (you know how fast babies grow). In turn for taking this relatively light package, the drop off place is in the centre of town at one of the best restaurants to eat in (where my friend is the chef). I am hoping to go with my family (us parents + 2 tweens) during the end of December. Is the sea water warm enough to stay in the water for an hour or so, or is it stay in the pool while watching the sea? I've heard Florida sea water is cold during this time of the year, so I am trying to lower my expectations.

Hello, I'm booking a vacation to Varadero either the week of Nov 22 or 29 but have never been there. I am debating either Riu Varadero or the Barcelo Marina Palace. I'm taking a parent for their b-day but I too would like to enjoy as I am in my mid 30's. Can any of you be able to rec. one of these 2 hotels and why. Also, is this a good time to weather wise. I'm staying in the Riu varadero and was wondering how far this hotel was from the centre of varadero? i was plannin on going to a club in varadero and therefore would like to no how far/much it is in a taxi? thanks

Hi! This will be our first time in Cuba, we're staying at the Sirenis La Salina from Feb 8-15. We would love to go Deep Sea fishing while we're here. Does anyone know who we ask about how to book Deep Sea Fishing excursions and the approximate Cost? Also there's only two of us I know you normally need four but has anyone ever gone with only two people before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We have stayed at the Barcelo Solymar three times and will be going back at the end of April for two weeks. We have stayed in the main hotel but this time we have booked a bungalow. If you have stayed there please tell me about your experiences in a Bungalow. Thanks for help David
