Varadero New Years 2009

Hi, I´m thinking about staying at the Sandals Varadero, from which I´ve read decent reviews. Nontheless, there isn´t much nightlife at the Hotel. So I guess my question is where can I find nice bars or clubs around the area, especially for New Years? Thanks
