We are a German Couple and we will be end of May on VI. Does anybody know if it is possbile to go with a pickup truck-camper from Port Renfrew via Lake Cowichan to Port Alberni passing the Cowichan Lake either via Honeymoon Bay or via Youbou? Thanks for your help Heinz

Yes I have driven that road a number of times. It's partially paved and the gravel part is well graded and quite wide. Drive with your lights on and give right of way to all logging trucks. The Govt has promised to pave the whole route but there's also an election soon(!)
