Driving In Vancouver

by 2Cities1Love Online Now May 26, 2008 at 7:21 AM

Hey peoples :-) We are considering renting a car from the airport on the day we arrive in Vancouver which is Sunday September 14, 2008. We would be driving to our hotel in Metrotown and then on to Grouse Mountain and Capilano and returning to our hotel via Stanley Park and Downtown. Just wondering whether this is a good idea considering: a) It's not a week day b) Possible major roadworks for 2010 Olympics, and c) Is parking easy at Grouse & Capilano? Thanks in advance Col & Sue

Hey there. This won't be too difficult at all. There will be some traffic but, nothing too bad compared to a weekday. You should get a map to see some small turning options. No Major road work will be in your way. Lots of parking is available at Grouse Mtn but somewhat limited at Capilano Suspension Bridge. The route downtown is quite simple but, the route to Metrotwn from downtown is a bit trickier. If you want a more detailed route, I can e-mail you one

That would be much appreciated thanks :-) Will get a GPS with the car but physical maps are always handy as well. Drove in Canada a few years ago and know the basics and glad it is a Sunday as well. Thanks heaps Col
