Hi all - I have booked a to stay at Grand Harbour and am trying to find out just how many steps are there to climb to get to bus terminal. Can Taxis get down there if I am coming back late at night? Thanks
grandharbourhotel.com/index.... - From the sound of it, you are overlooking the bastions which seems to indicate that you are on or near the "top" level of Valletta. The bus station leads into town in a gradual slope downwards and then away from the two main streets the drop is quite steep. I would imagine you would not be too troubled by the distance into town. As I say, if you want to get down to harbour level or to the Sliema ferry etc it is certainly a steep walk. Good luck

BUT.... grandharbourhotel.com/map.pd... ...from the map I am not sure what the IIIII lines are - so maybe they do indicate steps. I dont remember these though from when we were there last summer! Apologies for any confusion. Maybe other members can be more precise?

There are enough steps to be a bother if you have problems walking. There are battery-powered Taxis in the City that can take you close to and from the Hotel to the Bus Terminal. Late at night it would have to be a normal taxi. Distances are not great but the city was built as a fortress and the only street that is not on a hill is the main street: "Republic Street". You do have magnificent views of the harbour from the hotel though.
