I'd like to go for a day trip to Geneve during a stay in Aosta but the Italian train website states that such a trip would take 7 hrs at least; are there any buses available and how long would this take? Thanks.
Need to know the best and economical way to travel from Malpensa Airport to Courmayeur, Italy in september
Hello All, We are arriving to Malpensa Airport 9am and will rent a car there. Is it sensible to drive from there to COURMAYEUR MONT BLANC for roundtrip Alps cable ride? I have plotted to rout on Google ant it shows 2:08 hrs ride one way. How much time should I allow for the ride itself, including the stop at Giardino Botanico Alpino Saussurea? Thanks in advance for your help.
Does your area typically experience flooding when the Alps melt? There has been so much snow this winter, we are concerned that the roads may be impassible. We are planning to travel through Aosta in early-mid May 2012, and are interested in seeing the mountains.
Can someone please advise the easiest way for us to get to Aosta? We are a family of 4 and will be travelling around Italy. We can't find any information about what is the best way to travel there either via train or by bus. Rgds, Susan
I visited Aosta last year. WHile there a folk band played music with an accordian and a long wooden instrument held over the shoulder and played with a stick/mallet. I want to know the name of the instrument. I appreciate your help-I have been searching on the internet all year for this. I saw one in a music store in Aosta for sale-should have purchased it then! Bonjour- merci!
I went to La Thuile in March 2010 for a week of skiing, and really enjoyed it. The only downside was possibly the lack of nightlife. I am ready to go skiing again, and was just wondering whether it may not be better to go to Livigno or Sestriere (or somewhere else) this year? I am an intermediate skier, forty-something, and am looking for some ideas and inspiration, without completely destroying the bank balance!
Are the shops in Aosta open tomorrow 27 dDecember 2010?
Hello everyone, I'm planning to go to Northern Italy in Feb 2011. I have decided on visiting Milan and Venice. I am also looking forward for sightseeing of the Alps which I am contemplating of going to Aosta as well. Since I dont ski, is this a good plan? I plan to stay there for a day at least, admiring the surroundings, the valley, doing some walking in the town. If Aosta is not a good place, could u suggest me a place for Alps sightseeing in Italy. Or should I just go to Charmonix or Zermatt? Thanks in advance for your help. JOE
Hello everybody, I intend to drive from Geneva airport to Valle d'Aosta in mid-September. I understand that the shortest way lies through the Mont-Blanc tunnel, but somebody told me that I may have to wait several hours at the tunnel approach. Is that true? What is the best way to get through the mountains to the Valle d' Aosta, taking into consideration that my wife suffers from fear of heights? Thanks in advance!
We are flying from Cyprus hoping to skui at Cervinia. Which airport do we fly to and what are the means of travel from there to the resort at Cervinia Don
Hello, My husband and I are attempting to reserve the earliest bus departing Courmayeur for our upcoming trip in August, on a Thursday morning. We are having difficulty booking it on the savda.it website, however, and were hoping somebody could provide some insight and help. When trying to reserve the earliest bus, at 6:45 am, we get an error message: "La tratta 058561->010001 utilizzata sulla corsa 36398 non è tariffabile," which translates on google translate to "Trafficking 058561 -> 010001 used on race and pricing, not 36,398." An "x" appears where we would select that bus, and we can not book it. Any thoughts/suggestions? We do seem able to reserve a later bus, however this would mean us missing our connection in Aosta. Thank you in advance for helping us out in this frustrating situation!

I am arriving Geneva airport at 7:45PM (19.45) on 19 September and trying to figure out how to get to Courmayeur that evening. There are ski buses to Chamonix, but the ones I found leave GVA before 7PM (and then I'd still have to get through the tunnel). Is there a public bus or train I can take all the way to Courmayeur in the evening? Or any other way to get there short of renting a car?
Hello We will be having a short break in Valle d'Aosta (staying in Pollein - Express by Holiday Inn) in June and were wondering if there are any suggestions as to places we should visit. Is it recommended to hire a car? Are there any parks in the vicinity where our 5year old son could have fun? Thanks

I am a geologist who needs to traverse from Aosta to Zermatt. From what I have gathered we will have to cross four glaciers and it will probably take us 2 days. I am having a hard time finding a map with all the possible trails between Aosta and Zermatt and all the possible huts along the way. This is sort of round about stuff to be on the internet and find out about. Our group has extensive alpine training and we just have to figure out our basic route before comming up to Aosta on May 22 to begin the trek. I would appreciate ANY advice Thanks for your help Beth
Hi there, Look, I'm in Torino right now and I'll have a longer week-end, in fact a mini break of 4 days. Do you know where is there already snow by now ? Many thanks, Radu

Can anyone reccommend a good english (or french) hiking guide book for the area? Also, any general suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
