Hi, i am a British citizen hoping to visit Uzbekistan within the next 4 months and it would be so helpful to know if i need to be currently employed in a job in order to be granted a visa? I ask this because i am temporarily unemployed and i am worried that i will not be granted a visa if this is my current occupational status as this question is asked on the visa application form. If anyone has any information on this it would be gratefully appreciated, thanks.
No. The visa application may ask what you are employed as, but just write down you're an astronaut or a lion tamer or a paper-weight or whatever. Nobody will care or check.
Just don't write that you're a spy, journalist or drug smuggler.

No worries. A large number of travellers to places like Uzbekistan are unemployed. They are the 20-something backpackers on a multi-month trip or 70-something package tour followers who have been retired for years.
