Bryce canyon with 6 and 8 year old boys

Hi All, We will be touring the southwest next June/July 2008. I know it will be hot and we plan to tour parks in the early morning and return to condos/hotels in the heat of the day. My little one will be too young to take the horseback ride into Bryce Canyon, so my family is looking for 1/2 day hiking/touring alternatives in the park. My boys are good hikers, although I would probably stick to treks rated no more than "moderate" and no more than 4 miles in length round trip(depending on elevation changes). Any family friendly advice would be appreciated. DT89 from Cape Cod
