I will be staying in Urbino in a hotel at Corso Garibaldi 32 over a weekend. Are there any grocery stores/alimentari/supermarkets or farmers markets open on Saturday or Sunday within walking distance to my hotel?
The shops are all open until 7.30 pm on Saturday and closed on Sundays. There might not be a big supermarket close to your hotel, but you will certainly find small grocery shops everywhere.

There are no shops, supermarkets or 'mercati' anywhere near Corso Garibaldi. There is a photographic shop and a tobacconist about 200 meters from your hotel, and that's about it except for several cafe/bars

Thanks to you both for your replies. The grocery stores / small shops do not need to be right next to the hotel--is there some place I could walk within 20-30 minutes on Saturday to buy bottled water, cans of tuna fish, bread, fruit and such things?

To the best of my knowledge, Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi is part of the old city walls and is also a one way street for traffic. If you walk against the traffic you will come to a small piazza. There are several bars here, but I'm not aware of any shops. However, if there are going to be shops then this is the area you will find them. Keep in mind that your hotel concierge will always tell you where the closest stores are.
