Hi! I am planning to drive cross-country (round-trip) next summer with a friend. I am looking for any information/tips/etc. anyone might have to offer. Thanks!
I firmly believe that you can almost draw a straight line from coast to coast and hit very interesting sights in every state along the way. You'll have to inform us which city you will land in and which state you are aiming for to make this an easier question. Realize that you will hit several states and old towns and forests in the east, while the western states will require hours of your time just to drive through. In between is the Great Plains, but still there are interesting things to see depending on your route.

Lots of people tend to take the Northern route in one direction and the Southern route in the other. That way you'll really see quite a lot. The middle isn't quite as interesting.
