Does anyone know of any open air ice rinks near to Mirfield / Huddersfield (doesn't matter how small)? My daughter lives there (I live in Swindon) and I want to be able to take her skating over the Christmas break but don't want to travel too far. I have only found ones near York - thats too far and Leeds aren't having one till end of January.
I will purchase a zone 1 & 2 Travelcard when I'm in London next week. However, I am wondering what would happen if I accidentally trespass into zone 3 and exiting at that station? Can I pay for the additional fare or I'll be fined straight off?
I am currently considering a position in Colemore Row Birmingham, and they have offered meaaccommodation in the area, would this be considered a safe area for a woman living alone. I have never visited Birmingham so just trying to gather as much information as I can. Your feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hey guys !
I'm going to spend Christmas in London for the first time in three weeks and I'm very excited. However I was wondering if anyone had ideas about how and where I could spend those few days ? I would like to visit or to do non-mainstream things aside from all the "tourist" things everyone does, I'm sure there are a lot of interesting stuffs to do in London that are not well-known. Thanks :D
I've tried to look but several sites are down.
Can you go direct from Kent Station (UK) to Amsterdam direct?
Or do you have to go to Brussels first then Amsterdam?
I know otherwise I can go from London to Brussels station onto Amsterdam
I'm considering relocating to this city, buying a house.
What's the place like?
What work if any is available?
My budget is 95k, That properties are available is the main reason for considering this area.
What areas should be avoided?
Many years ago (in the 1970's) there was a fine...VERY SMALL...stand-alone pub in Llangollen. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name. As I recall, it was painted white....maybe some half-timber. I do recall that darts was a feature at this pub. Does anyone know if it's still in existence. Could it have been turned into a pizzeria? Thanks for any help.
how much is a ticket to the island of mull by airplane
If i have a flight at 6.40am what time should i get to the airport?
I have been to a retail outlet (including a large antique/furniture section) with small boutiques all encompassed within an old country house (I think) There is also a substantial plants for sale section outside. This place is situated in view from a main road, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is called or where it is. My sister can't remember either - even though we have both been there twice! But she thought it might be towards Haywards Heath? That could be a red herring though! Anyone know where I am talking about? It is driving me slightly mad!
Hi. I'm planning to take a vacation to the UK next year, and I was just wondering how to get around the city. Do we have to use the bus, take a cab, or go underground? Thanks!
While visiting Southampton recently, someone told us of a wall that American servicemen wrote on before boarding their ship on their way to D-Day. Having visited Normandy on the other side of the channel, we tried finding this wall. We could not find it. Does it exist and is there a picture of it anywhere?
I'll de doing a round trip from Glasgow to Edinburgh somewhere in the next Spring.
I've never been to any of both cities and It seems to me that I don't have any particulary strong reason to choose the train over the bus, and vice versa (time, money, location, etc).
What I'd like to know from you is if any of those itineraries is better than the other in terms of sightseeing.
I'll say it in a different way in case my English is too cryptic: Will I see a nicer Scotland landscape from the bus or from the train, neither or both?
I know this my be a ridiculous request, however I am asking anyway. About 25 years ago when I was in London I visited a pub. This pub was no more than an hour or so out of London, While I was there, I remember someone telling me that the Vikings had landed in that very location and that it was over 1,000 years. I also remember that the seats (booths , for lack of a better word) we stone slabs. If you can help, please email me at email@example.com. My son is traveling soon and I would love for him to experience it.
I'm thinking of moving to Newark, is this a good, where else could I consider?
Hey, I am travelling through Scotland at the moment to find the best place to live... At the moment I am in Oban. Who would like to go into a pub, a restaurant, cinema or ding some trips with me?
Hope to hear from you soon!
Is it possible to see the market place and cross from the castle walls? How far away is the market place from the castle.
I have just accepted a job offer in Bodmin and due to the nature of the work do not want to live there. We have looked at many places throughout Cornwall and have agreed on Newquay. Problem is we do not know the area in depth, is there areas we should avoid buying a house? I don't want to come across as snooty but want to avoid the council housing estates and bring up the kids in a nice area.
Anyone know of a Sushi restaurant in MK?
We are trying to decide whether to take a car to the Orkneys, or hire one there or ?? We want to get off the beaten track if possible, and also see where my forbears came from on Sanday. We are coming from Australia for a week. Any suggestions?
I'm preparing to send my daughter to London for a semester. Any tips to make her transition easier? Perhaps a 'dont leave home without' suggestion? This is her first trip to Europe. Thank you!!
Only going to be there for a day- staying in Pancras. Really want a day in the life of a local!!! Been 3 times prior and seen big sights already.
I'm a US citizen flying from San Francisco to Mumbai via London Heathrow. My layover is from 12 noon till 9 PM (9 hours). I booked my flight through Virgin Atlantic directly but my connecting flight from LHR to Mumbai is on a codeshare airline (Jet Airways). I've found out that I'll be able to check my bags all the way through from SFO to Mumbai.
I was also told that I can do an airside transfer from Terminal 3 to 4 at LHR using a terminal shuttle. My question is, can I leave the airport and visit London for a few hours while I'm there? I've read forums that mention (strangely enough) that Virgin Atlantic doesn't allow you to leave the airport during a layover. From what I know I don't need a tourist or transit visa to enter the UK.
If possible I would like to go to Windsor Castle and maybe have a meal around there before coming back to Terminal 4 directly. I won't be having a big carry-on bag either. Just a laptop bag. Has anyone been through this recently?
I want to visit London again.
In this time I would like to see unusual things or places, which may be worth seeing too!
Do you have any idea??
I'll be very grateful for your help:)
I looking for a 10 to12 mile walk in this area for a groupe from guisborough U3A
I'm traveling from the U.S. to Harrogate next June for a graduation at Fountains Abbey. I'll be flying into London Heathrow and taking a train to Harrogate. What are my transportation options from Harrogate to Fountains Abbey (the graduation is on a weekday evening), or would staying in Leeds give me more choices for transportation? I appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks in advance!
I plan a three-day trip to the UK. Which city or cities do you recommend to visit and why? Thanks for your help.
I'm proposing to my girlfriend in Central London in February. I want to plan a scavenger hunt proposal where she has to follow clues to find me and the ring at the end. I have a list of great places in central to add to the list, but I'm conscious about the almost certain bad weather in February. Can anyone recommend places that are indoor that I could add to my scavenger hunt in Central London? This way I could make it half indoor and half outdoor. Thanks.
Does anyone know which city, London or Suderland , is more worthwhile for a one-month trip?
Does anyone know the name of the shop that has taken over the traditional sweet shop. I was in there last week and would like to check to see whether something is still in stock but I do not the name to call them!
The shop always has things stacked outside and a ramp to go up into the shop. It has a vast array of items from clothing (in back right hand corner), crockery, furniture, handmade crafts and so forth. The counter is in the back left. Last time I was in there they had some lovely handmade children shoes!
Please help! :-)
