Train from Stansted to Liverpool Street station in London. Then underground (Circle or Hammersmith&City lines) to Paddington and then direct train to Bristol. This link will help you plan - ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/servi... I would think about 3 to 4 hours for the journey. That would be the easiest and fastest way.

take Stansted express to Liverpool street station then tube to Paddington station before catching mainline train to Bristol. This will take less than 4 hours. Check www.thetrainline.com for times and prices. If you book in advance there are huge discounts.

National Express coaches offer a 5 hour (average) journey from Stansted to Bristol (change of coach at Heathrow Airport) for around £50 one way cheaper sometimes if you book a long time in advance. www.nationalexpress.co.uk

Basically, you have a choice of train or (coach) long-distance bus. Train is usually more expensive but faster. Cheapest one-way fare tomorrow is 58GBP, journey time around 3 hours. Use the official UK railway website to find train times, details and fares: www.nationalrail.co.uk Standard coach fare (National Express, as above) Stansted>Bristol is 49.90GBP, fastest journey time just under 4 hours. Cubsur is right that if you book well in advance you *might* find lower fares.

www.thetrainline.com shows prices around now of £70 and 2 months advance less than £20 but the only problem with this is to pray that your plane arrives on time so you don't miss your connection

One thing to note about "advance" train tickets is that they are only train-specific for the booked part. In this case the Paddington to Bristol bit. So what you can do is get an "advance" ticket several hours after you really need it and enjoy a bit of London en route if you have the time. I quite often do that. I can get an "advance" price from Gatwick to Barnstaple but the only bit that is train specific is the Paddington to Exeter.
