We would like to do the Golden Triangle from Delhi. We arrive in Delhi late on Wednesday 16 October 2013 and leave Delhi on Tuesday 22nd October at 15.20. We are staying with friends in Delhi and would like to do Golden Triangle departing Saturday or Sunday and returning to the airport for our flight.

Hey Guys, I will be in Delhi for 4 days and I want to visit all tourist places in the city. Please help me by telling me which are the places nearby that I can cover on a particular day so that I wont have to travel too much and waste my time and money.

The places I want to visit are Rajghat, Gandhi Darshan, Gandhi Smriti, Rastrapathi Bhawan, Sansad Bhavan, India Gate, Lodhi Gardens, Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, Chattarpur Temple, Delhi Haat, Tibet House, Dolls Museum , Rail Museum, Iskcon Mandir, Red Fort, Rose Gardens, Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Mughal Gardens, National Museum, Independence Movement Museum, Qutub Minar, Jain Mandir, Humayun's Tomb, Gauri Shankar Mandir, Jama Masjid, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar, Tughlaqabad Fort, Purana Quila, Safdarjung's Tomb.

I will be travelling by car and hence will save some time and hence hope I can make it to all of these places in the four days on my hand.

I am visting Delhi at the end of the month and staying at Radisson Blu Plaza. Any idea how far to the shopping areas for clothes, souveniers, music etc. Are the local markets more easier to shop than the huge shopping malls? How is transporation around that area? Any one can recommend a good driver would be appreciated. Thank you guys/gals!

Is it better to wait and get a local number from the market or at the airport ? Are the SIM cards cheaper outside ? I will be in delhi for less than 10 days in the 3rd week of march and just need a local number for that time

Hi, On Saturday our taxi driver was asked to take us to Cottage Industries on Jan Path. He said he knew it well. He took us to a smallish shop, 2 floors, next door to the Deutsche Bank, which had a Cottage Industries sign. Checking on Google now, I see that the real Cottage Industries is a much bigger complex, further south on Jan Path (corner of Tolstoy). Can anyone tell me more about the little shop next door to Deutsche Bank (near Connaught Circus)? Is it a regular scam? I do remember that we could not drive up Jan Path because of Metro construction work. Does this construction block access to the real Cottage Industries and give the taxi driver a valid excuse? (The taxi company is known and used by my host in Delhi - we were there on business. I want to give feedback to my host company who hired the taxi for us)

Hi, We are 4 friends on their mid-thirties who are planning to do the Golden triangle (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur). We are looking for a very good company organising this tour, including the transport among the cities so that to show us the nice spots on the way. We are not looking for a private tour, but to be with other people in the group (preferably people of our age, or at least not families). Hi, I'm at the moment in New Delhi. I would like to leave Delhi tomorow to visit Rajasthan. I seems not to be easy to leave the city on your own and for example just book a trainticket to the next destination. 4 travelagencies recommend a private driver with car... Is it a good price: About 500 euro for 14 days Rajasthan (included: car, driver, fuell, taxes) ? I am staying at the Shangri La Eros Hotel on Ashoka Rd in November for a few nights on business. I have been once before but had very little time and managed only a quick couple of sorties - to the Tibetan Market, the area around the parliment, Connaught Place, Cottage industries cooperative shop and the jantar mantar and India Gate. I am a woman who is travelling alone and would like recommendations for things to see or good areas for buying local handicrafts as gifts, fairly close to the hotel. Can anyone advise? I wont have time to travel far and have found walking around alone I get rather hassled and mis-directed. Thank you.

The weather _ what to wear re temperature and respectful of culture 2. We are staying at the Oberoi _ how accessible is it to local activity etc. 3. Hello fellow forummers! :) My travel partner and I will be visiting India for the first time in November for 9 days and whilst planning, we have some questions which I would be grateful for some advice: 1. So, we will be flying via Jet Airways into Delhi. I read that New Delhi really is part of Delhi. Is this distinction important in my planning as it seems a little confusing for a newbie. 2. We do not have a fixed itinerary yet, just tentatively the golden triangle. Is that a good initiation into India or should we do something different? We are hoping to do something slightly off the beaten path, not just the usual touristy places, yet not something that may be dangerous. 3. If you would recommend the golden triangle, how many days should we stay at each city? 3 days each at Delhi, Jaipur and Agra? Should we get out of Delhi straightaway and leave it for the last part of our trip since we are flying out from Delhi or should we cover it for the start leg of our journey? 4. Do we have to book the train tickets in advance from in our home country or can it wait till we arrive India? 5. I was told that the non-aircon trains, where the locals actually hang from the outside of the train, are quite an Indian adventure to experience. What are your comments on this? Thanks a lot!

Good morning all, I am landing at 8pm on a Thursday and departing at 1pm next day. Staying at Radisson Blu and wanted to know if I have enough time to try and enjoy nightlife and pick up a few things. 1. How far is the gateway from the airport hotel? Will I be able to make it there and back for my flight without any issues/traffic. 2. I would like to know if any nightclubs will be open at night to enjoy some local culture/music. 3. Where can I pick up latest bollywood mixes music/movies/souveniers. Airport charges too much so I was hoping to find something in the area maybe around 8am-10am. Good morning all, I am going to New Deli for one night and wanted to see if there was anything worth doing. I am landing at 8:15pm on a Thursday and flying out the next day around 1pm. Is there a shuttle to the hotel since it is close. What time does the restaurants/night clubs close in the area? Should I exhcange currency at airport or at the hotel if I need any at all. we're going to be in Delhi for 4 nights from 04/11/12 and are thinking of staying at the Bloomrooms hotel in Jangpura. Has anyone stayed there? or what's the area like, we have stayed in Karol barg area before and really liked it. hi guys just checking that paharganga is the best place for all the hostels in delhi. we will want a twin room but obviously want it as cheap as poss. my friend is leaving 5 days before me so i would keep the room for myself for the extra time and i dont want to spend a lot. is this area close to all the sights in the city. thanks

Hi all, My husband and I are planning a trip up for 8D/7N to New Delhi on last week of Sept, and we have a couple of questions: Found an agent (Caper Travel) who suggested Delhi-Jaipur-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra-Varanasi-Delhi. Includes a train ride from Agra to Varanasi. - Is the above itinerary good, or are some places not worth going? (We are pretty adventurous so happy to explore "off the beaten track" too) - I would like to take a train (even overnight train, if conditions are really nice), any suggestions? - If we choose not to take a guide for the whole trip, can we find a local guide at each of the cities? Will it be difficult to find/arrange our own transport to the various cities? - Any "must try" experiences for this area?
