    • Is 25 minutes enough time to change trains?

      Milan 6 hours ago

I am travelling in group of 8 from Mestre to Spiez with change of train at Milano Centrale. The train schedule is at the bottom of this message. I have some concerns and will be helpful if you can help answer these please.
      - Is there any passport check we have to go through at Milano? We are Indians and will be travelling on Schengen visa.
      - Is this time sufficient to change trains? As you can see there are 28 minutes between trains. My mom is slow walker due to her age. Has anyone seen or experienced how much time it will need for a slow walker to change platforms?
      - Do passengers need to walk extra for Eurocity trains?
      Any clarification is highly appreciated?

                                                                                      • *

      Train: FrecciaBianca 9710
Departure: Venezia Mestre (time: 08:32); Arrival: Milano Centrale (time: 10:55)
      Train: EuroCity 52
Departure: Milano Centrale (time: 11:23); Arrival: SPIEZ (time: 13:53)

    • AREA to stay in Elba

      Isola d' Elba Apr 9, 2015 at 4:25 AM

Travelling to Elba with my Mum and Dad at the end of May, beginning of June.

Due to the Bus time tables from Florence, we would be on Elba for 4nights.

Ideally like to pick 1 hotel for the 4nights, and do day trips from that base.

      Tried to research the best area to stay in Elba, with no luck. Suggestions seem to be;

Marina di Campo/ Porto Azzuro/ Cavoli.

Obviously I need to narrow it down to 1.
They are both 50yrs old, we would like to see all of the 'touristy' things that Elba has to offer, and also a couple of walks, and a beach.

So in short, best AREA to stay in Elba.

      Thanks

      Hi all,

      1) what bus/buses should i take if i would like to have a 1 day trip from Venice to Cortina? Please inform what is the website and specify the station name i should take from Venice to Cortina?

      2) is the bus station at Cortina the town itself? if not, how do i get there? how much? And would i be able to see all the beautiful landscape/alps/mountains? Or i would need to go outskirts? If yes, how do i go?

      3) is 1 day to spend at the town of Cortina too long? Would you recommend any stopovers along the way from Venice to Cortina?

      4) I am going with a group of 7 people, if i were to take the 1 day tours or book a van from Venice to Cortina, which tour company or van company would you recommend? and which is cheaper?

Would it make sense to tag along up to Florence and take the train from there to Venice, or head to Rome to take the train. I realize that Rome is closer to the port, but wondering if the craziness there would make for a more difficult commute.

      Opening hours for churches

      Assisi Jan 21, 2015 at 2:12 PM

Dear friends hallo again. Since we will be visiting Assisi as well, for a day trip, we would like to visit some of the churches. But, unfortunately, we don't have any luck at finding the exact opening hours for some of them. And when we find them at some sites they don't seem to match one info with the other. So, in short, any help upon this would be mostly appreciated. The churches are:
      1. Eremo delle Carceri
      2. Tiempo di Minerva
      3. Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli
      4. New Church
      5. Oratorio dei pellegrini
      7. San Pietro
      8. Parish of Santa Maria Maggiore
      9. Church of santo Stefano
      10. Santa Maria delle Rose

Thanks again for your precious help.

Hello…would like opinions about whether it is worth staying in Spoleto or if it is a better option to stay in Perugia and just do a day trip to Spoleto? I thought if we wanted to visit some hot springs and closer neighbouring towns to Spoleto, then it makes more sense to stay there rather than travelling further from Perugia (centre) HOWEVER if it means having to use a car, and travelling on windy roads…I would rather not! It seems like you need a car if you want to visit the truly magical places of Italy…either that, or pay a fortune in tours? Catch 22…Thanks in advance….
