4 of us will be flying into Ayers Rock in early August for 3 days. First day we arrive mid-day, then full day there, then we fly out mid-day. We want to rent a car to save money on the park shuttles but we are trying to figure out if we should just rent a car for the 1 full day and explore the park on that day or if we should rent the car for the whole 3 days. I'm not sure what other use we would have for the car other than visiting the park. We can use the free shuttle to get to/from the airport and around the resort. Any ideas/opinions/etc.
Depending on your budget, you could do Sounds of Silence on the first evening - well worth doing and would give you an Uluru sunset too.
