Ulcinj to Skoder by `Forgon` (Minibus) or taxi?

by budapest8 Online Now Sep 5, 2009 at 8:33 PM

I made the trip last year by taxi from Podgarica to Skodra and would like to
return to Albania and try the other route. Does anyone know the price of taxi from
Ulcinj to Skodra and is there a direct minibus between the 2 places? Also any tips about what a private room might cost now, in and out of season?
Thx..I think that part of the world is `Shoom bokor` ..

There is a minibus between Ulcinj and Shkoder...I took it in the opposite direction, so can't tell you the times from Ulcinj or indeed where to buy tickets. However, it doesn't leave from the main bus station, but from outside a cafe called Rozafa about half a kilometre closer to the town centre. In Shkoder, the minibus drops you off outside the Rozafa Hotel, right in the centre of town. I can't remember how much I paid, but think it was something like 10 Euros.

Not sure about how much rooms cost, but if you want a cheap place to stay in Shkoder, try asking for the Hotel Parku.

And yes, that region is shume bukur!

Thanx for your reply. I got an email from
a Ulcinj tourist web site and they quoted me the price of 6 euro,
but I guess as you have to apy 1 or 2 euro a bag it
would work out at around 10. Was it a nice route
by Lake Scutari with the minibus and how was the road?
Do you remember how long was the journey, 2 hours?
I stayed last year in Hotel Kaduku which is just
on the big square with the heroes statue..
(Lagja: Cajupi 84/1 Sheshi 5 Heronjte. It just opened after
    a renovation, prices were 18 and 23 to 25 Euros a night,
recommend it, had own water supply and own generator
which is a must, and buses ran often before mid day to
Tirane on the opposite side of the Square.
