What is the safest approach to drinking water? I was told be careful since many vendors reseal plastic bottle lids with heat to make you think they contain safe water when in fact, they bottles that have been used used and refilled with water that can make you very ill.
Yes, this has been a common practice in many countries so i suggest you go to the biggest store you can find rather than the small stores. Maybe they have purified water outlets where the local water is treated and is safe for consumption

Agree. Buy from a reliable store, not a street vendor. In Haiti Culligan sold water and it was always good. I imagine they are nearly everyplace by now.

I used the large supermarkets when in Ulanbataar..as here I stocked up for the long train journey to Moscow.. I had previously been caught with this "refilled bottle" in Sabah Malaysia...and I was not well for about four days..I always check the lids before paying.!!..
