Hi we are planning a trip to Turkey in July (2nd -16th July, our group consists of 5 adults (aged between 28-35) and 3 kids ( aged between 3-6). pls recommend an itinerary? we also need to keep the kids happy, are there stuffs for kids to do and see in turkey - theme parks etc? Thanks!
I was stationed in Turkey years ago... I'm sure it has changed considerably since then. What is the purpose of your trip? What parts do you plan on visiting?

How are you going to travel as that will make a huge difference to considerations. Are you using public transport or hiring a vehicle? Yes there are theme type parks, particularly water ones. July is also likely to be very very hot and your children may like to spend time at the beaches which can range from very busy to semi isolated depending on the location. What interests do you have - history? or do you just want a relaxing do nothing type of holiday.

Hi we will be hiring vehicles as much as possible. if there are big distances to be covered, we can opt for trains and buses or flights if its too far. what iam looking at is a bit of history, shopping and fun for kids. I am thinking about 4 days in Istanbul and the rest to be decided. Thanks a lot!

Have a look at this site turkeytravelplanner.com which has some excellent advice. One of your stops could be Kusadasi (or Selcuk) where you could mix things up with a visit to Ephesus, Priene and then the Zeus cave for some cold water swimming, some time on one of the main busy beaches, a visit to the more isolated Dilek National Park for swimming and water play, a stop at Camlick for the Train museum where the kids can climb all over the engines, some time at either of the two themed Water parks, out to Dergimen for a visit to the animal farm and a meal. Another stop could be Antalya where most of the hotels out at Lara Beach have huge themed water parks attached and within a short drive there are places such as Aspendos etc. I cannot emphasis too much how hot it will be though at the historical sites - ensure you have plenty of water for hydration for the children. People underestimate the effect of reflection from the white marble.
