Hello Roy, and welcome to VT.....d:o) Not sure what you mean by "running yet", unless there was a break in the services that I am unaware of, - which is entirely possible. There are ferries from at least two points in Venezuela, Puerto la Cruz and Cumana on the north coast. It is about 5-6 hour drive to PLC and a few hours more to Cumana. I think I remember the port on the island being at Pudta de Piedras (sp?). It is however much easier to fly to the island, and it is really not much more money, with a numerous flights daily from Caracas. If you opt for the ferries, I would recommend a "better class" on the express which is (or it was....) airconditioned and bit faster than the rest. Please bear in mind that it has been a while since my last time, and I am working from memory, but if there have been changes, they certainly could not be too severe. There will no doubt be both ferrys and flights. Have fun compadre......d:o)

Hi' Mate. The venezuelan airline Conviasa should serve that route: http://www.conviasa.aero/2011/site.php

Thanks for any help :-)

So something did change while I was not looking. However, - I know there were at least two major ferry companies, - Conferry and Gran Cacique Express. www.conferry.com www.grancacique.com.ve As for airlines, try Aeropostal and Aserca and also Laser. www.aeropostal.com www.asercaairlines.com www.laser.com.ve I am also pretty sure that there are direct flights from Miami. Remember that the prices on the local ferrys/airlines vary greatly during on/off seasons, and if I remember correctly, weekend flights/ferrys can be as much as twice the normal price.
