I'm visiting Toulon for the first time .How far is the city from the airport and are there Taxis readily available ?

Really called Toulon-Hyeres Airport - an old military airfield -and close to the Mediterranean shore being not far to inland Hyeres- also called Hyeres les Palmiers thanks to its preponderance of palm trees - which is a fine town with some character, and also not far to reach the offshore Isle de Porquerolles. Hyeres used to be a favoured place for Northern Europeans especially Brits to over winter. There was and probably still is a fine casino.
