I'm planning a 2 week trip to Spain beginning of June.
First week, we're thinking of staying in San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja. Does anyone know how good and accessible this area is? What do you recommend to do there? Where is the closest airport and how far is it from San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja? What methods of transportation is there to get from the airport to San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja? How long for each and how much for each?
We are planning to stay in Marina del Sol, Malaga for the second week. Does anyone know where exactly this is in Malaga? What do you recommend to do there? What is the best way of traveling between San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja and Malaga? How many airports are there in Malaga? What is the closest airport to Marine del Sol and how far is it? What is the airport called and where exactly is it located?
We are coming for Toronto, Canada and wondering what is the best and cheap way of getting around: Toronto - San Miguel de Salinas, Torrevieja - Malaga - Toronto. We checked Thomas Cook, but the don't have flights or suitable flights.
The nearest airport is San Javier (Murcia) airport which is only small (Military) and set on the coast near La Manga. Here you are only 30 mins drive from San Miguel de Salinas so a taxi could be reasonable if you don't fancy driving in Spain. However driving in Spain is easy and cheap as a small car can be hired easily at the airport from just £10 a day plus fuel but inclusive of collision damage waiver. However flights to San Javier are limited, from the UK Easy Jet and Ryan Air fly regulary. The larger airport serving this region is Alicante approx 50 mins drive from San Miguel. Bus services are possible but few and far between. If you can drive I would definetely reccomend hiring a car to fully enjoy this area.
For more info about San Miguel in more detail look up this website:san-miguel-de-salinas.com/uk...
San Miguel is a lovely peaceful town with lots of good bars and restaurants. It has a good public outdoor swimming pool and sports facilities and is only a 20 min drive to the coast with its miles of lovely safe sandy beaches. In this area of Spain the towns and cities of Murcia, Alicante Orihuela and Cartanega are well worth a vist for their architecture, history, culture and shopping.
Can not comment on Malaga as not travelled down that far. Hope this has been o some help. Have a good trip. Adios Amigos!!
