Hi All Just a few questions about our hotel and resort please if you can advice. Should I book a car hire on line before coming or can I get a cheap car hire when i get there? Is car hire recommended? how much should i pay a taxi from malaga to this hotel? Has anyone stayed at this hotel and is the beer (lager) ok? Will the weather be good for a swim in easter holidays? Thanks in advance
"Probably" weather will be warm enough for swimming. This year Easter break is late in April, and that helps. Beer will be good, as it is all over the country...if you don´t like the first bar...go to the next one, I am sure there will be plenty of them. Sorry, I can´t help with the other questions. Good luck.

Hi I asked about the beer because I am in an all inclusive package and do like a few lagers :-)

I understand...beer is important. I guess that you will have some brands to choose, and probably there will be at least one local beer, and some international...so no worries about that. Millions of persons come every year, and NOBODY complains about our beer, lol.

I think th eOP means the beer in the all-inclusive hotel. These usually advertise "local beers, wines and spirits" are included. i.e NOT branded Vodka, Gin (eg Gordons, Smirnoff )etc but the nondescript makes that are found in Spanish resorts a lot. Nothing wrong with these if you mix them with tonic, cola etc but purists may notice the difference. As for beer, this is draft, and often served in plastic glasses and is a local brand like Cruzcampo, Estrella Damm, Mahou, or San Miguel(if you are lucky).

If you want to escape the complex, then a walk to the marina between Torremolinos and Benalmadena is worth a look - the drinks are quite pricey here though.

Always book a car my friend. Gives you so much freedom to explore the area and the bits in the guide book - to get you out of Torremolinos! More often than not we use Carjet.com, but try scanning travelsupermarket.co.uk or economycarhire.com. Carjet can be booked online or by ringing up, they are pretty switched on. Amigo autos is another and I have a list of about 30 I try to compare quotes. Check your excess (Carjet is VERY good on this) but there are always things like wheels and tyres not covered so we have an annual policy with insurance4carhire.com. I believe Carjet use Goldcar at Malaga, which is in the terminal area. A Renault Clio is about £83 and a Focus £100. NEVER leave it until you get there - this year they are peddling a line about the troubles in Tunisia and Morocco putting more pressure on car hire in Spain, and I have seen some models 'sold out' (allegedly).

Is it possible to walk from this hotel to the Marina or is it too far? Do you know if they do coke light?
