Hey Folks! On our way over (most likely end of next week) and I'm wondering about the "most see" things. Except for the Nigara falls, what can you recommend? Thanks! Amina

I'm from Toronto but live in California. A fun thing to do is just walk around the City it's very fun and if you get tired they have great restaurants and pubs, cafe's etc. Younge Street is the main drag. It is also quite safe. They ahve great parks, one of my favorite is "Sherwood Park" near the Eglington Subway stop, about a mile and half walk from there. Thre subway system is superb too. The Lakefront is also a nice area. Niagra Falls is a must if you've never seen it, but you'll have seen enough after about 90 minutes. It's only a 90 mile drive from the City. But the best way to explore it is just walk around the city like you would Paris.

What are your interests? My first suggestion is to peruse the Toronto pages of tips to get some ideas of the "Must Sees" and Off the Beaten Path tips. There are a variety of museums, architectural, sporting, etc things to see and do. It really is up to what your tastes are, and how much time you want to spend. Niagara Falls can be done in a half-day, or you can spend a whole day, including the stop at Niagara on the Lake. And, it all depends upon the weather, what you can accomplish. Lots can be done walking and using the day passes for the buses/subway/streetcar.

All of you - thank you for the replies! One final question, what's the weather like? Is it still freezing or has spring turned up? :-)

The sun is nice and warm on you when you sit in a car, or inside by the window, but step outside into the wind and it is -24C with the windchill factor. No matter what the silly rodent said back at the beginning of February - winter is always around the corner here! Our worst winter storms are often in the last 2 wks of March/first 2 wks of April timeframe, but the good news is that they go away quickly. Keep an eye on www.theweathernetwork.com for the weather, and remember that the weatherman tends to go outside, look around, go inside and toss a coin or spin a wheel to make his best guess. (Must be a man because he doesn't read any manual!)
