My family is planning a visit to Hawaii later this year. Most of us are eligible for the VWP, but my wife needs a B2 visa since she holds a Malaysian passport, though she's resident in Singapore. From the website ustraveldocs.com, I gather that there are a few hoops that she needs to jump through in order to just submit her application:
1. Print out a form and pay the visa application fee (USD160 in SGD equivalent) at a Standard Chartered Bank branch in Singapore. No problem, there are a few around. But the bank will issue a receipt with a serial number which is needed later.
2. Fill out an online form and upload a photo. No problem, although the form is like 20 pages long. Mostly done, but I have yet to submit the form electronically.
3. Create a user account, login, submit the form together with the payment serial number from (1) above. This is the problem - I am unable to create an account. Calling the helpline doesn't help - the automated voice menu doesn't cover this issue and there is no option to speak to a person. There's also a chat function which timed out. There's just a generic error message that doesn't give any indication what the problem might be.
So essentially I have to fork out SGD224 for her visa, with no guarantee that I can even get to submit the form if the account cannot be created. And the fee is non-refundable.
Could anyone who applied for a US visa before suggest what I could be doing wrong, or what the problem might be? It could be that a new user account can only be created after the form has been submitted, but that means having to pay the application fee first. It's a leap of faith I'm not prepared to take at this time since the fee is not insignificant.
We're continuing our quest of baseball parks this summer. KC, Arizona, and Colorado are on our list this year. We usually spend another day or two in the cities we visit. Looking for tips on where to stay relatively close to the ballpark, and other "must-see", "must-eat", etc. locations while in KC.
taking RV trip up through Durango CO to Black Canyon of Gunnison end of Aug. Looking for a good RV campground in Gunnison area that is close to good hiking, water & scenery. Meeting my sister from Denver in their RV - we are thinking Blue Mesa or Taylor Park based on what I've researched. Any insight would be greatly appreciated ;)
I'd like to do some bear viewing, hiking, fishing, and other fun stuff while on Kodiak Island. Most of those activities are quite costly with a guide. Is it possible to experience what Kodiak has to offer in term of wildlife viewing without a guide on my own? I appreciate any info. Thanks.
Hi - cruising May 16-23 and then staying at Turtle Bay 23-26. I will need ground transport from the airport to the cruise terminal and then from the cruise terminal to the rental car. Prefer private transport but more importantly reliable and quick. Some people say just wait til I get there and others say its important to have it all set up before I go. Prices are all over the map and reviews are too. Any advice would be appreciated.
