      Rome to Loreto, Holy House

      Rome May 6, 2013 at 9:59 PM

I'll be in Rome on June and I only have one free day from my itinerary, that's the only time that I can go to the Holy House. How do I go to the Holy House, leaving Rome early morning and coming back late night. Is there a bus or a train that goes directly from Rome to Loreto? Cause I read that I have to take a train to Ancona and then bus/train to Loreto. I'll be travelling with some elders, and it will be tiring for them if we keep on changing transportation. Please I need your help on this asap as we are leaving at the end of the month. Thanks!

    • Appropriate Clothing for Italy

      Rome Apr 29, 2013 at 5:42 AM

This question has been tossed around here for awhile, but there never seems to be a consesus, but perhaps there isn't one. I have read so many opinions on what to wear while in Rome that I am more confused than ever. I know they are going to know I am a tourist anyway, but I have read that if you are over 19 years old than t-shirts are not appropriate. Some even say that polo shirts are not recommended. For the record I am 39 years old but look younger. I do not plan on wearing shorts or sandals or white socks or white tennis shoes. Now that that is out of the way, are t-shirts really frowned upon? Is it better to sticke with polos and button shirts?

      Rome May 2, 2013 at 7:52 AM

We are planning on going to Rome this coming Monday and we have booked a hotel yet the person seems to rarely respond to emails. I have asked if there was shuttle service and it seems there was when he asked for the flight information. I wrote back and asked if he received the info and he never responded and not we leave in four days. Is this normal for Italians not to respond. I have also read on several sites that this hotel does not accept credit cards yet he assured me it does. I have observed that many B&B's accept only cash. Is this normal as well. Who has hundreds if dollars in cash on them?

    • Hop on hop off!!!

      Rome Apr 28, 2013 at 4:09 AM

Hi it's me again! While in Rome in July of this year

we're debating if it's worth considering the hop on hop off bus as a transportation

method! We chose the hotel Ludovisi Palace because it's very near to the bus route.

We don't want to use the public buses and the metros because it will get very crowded!

We will do some waking too :)

by AnnPeter Online Now Jan 4, 2007 at 9:09 PM

How much of a pain is it to get from Rome to Tivoli (bus or train)? We would like to see the Villa d’est and Hadrian’s villa – can this be done comfortably in a half day or do you need a full day? If possible we would prefer to do this under our own steam rather then take a tour. Thanks in advance.

    • Tivoli train station

by aunthoppy Online Now May 24, 2006 at 8:10 AM

We are considering making a trip to Hadrian's Villa on our last morning in Rome, before going on to Florence that evening. I am asking if anyone knows if the train station in Tivoli has lockers, where we could secure our backpacks, or should we lock them up at Termini and go back there on the way to Florence. Some rail routes have us changing trains back in Termini anyway.
