    • Staying with my Belgium Vietnamese Girlfriend in Vietnam ?

Ho Chi Minh City Jun 16, 2013 at 3:55 PM

My girlfriend is Vietnamese born but has both Belgium and Vietnamese nationality. She will visit Saigon for the first time for years and I will join her there for a week.

Will there be any problem staying in a hotel or rented apartment together ? She can use her Belgium ID. But her name is Vietnamese.

      Thanks for advice

    • 24 days in Vietnam

      Vietnam Jun 8, 2013 at 5:24 AM

my wife and I will spend 24 days in Vietnam during Oct/Nov, 2013. This will be our second trip, previously we visited HCM (Mekong), Hoi An, Hanoi, Sapa and Halong Bay and we will be visiting all these places again, with more time at each destination.(possible exception Sapa)

We would very much appreciate comments from VT if we should visit other interesting destinations in Vietnam. My wife and I are in our mid-70's, so we would prefer destinations with relative easy access. We are past motor-cycle stage.

Our interests are local culture, local food, local handwoven textiles and generally taking it easy. We enjoy staying at guesthouses as we meet many young people there and we enjoy talking with them.

I have posted this question about a week ago but cannot see it in the Forum, so I have probably given it the wrong heading. If it is duplicated I apologise.

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to give us.

Hai Van Pass, by train or by bus?

      Hue Mar 26, 2006 at 9:12 PM

Hi there, we will be travelling from Hue to Danang/Hoi An in early April. Hai Van pass is repetitively shown on all covers. So what you reckon, it's more spectacular overseeing the view from the train or from the bus? How's the road condition? The train costs around US$4 from Hue to Danang, where we will then be picked up for free by our hotel to Hoi An. The bus, cheaper likely. But how's the road condition? and the bus situation? crowded? Train seems to be more convenient. any suggestions dude? many thanks in advancE! Val

      PERFUME PAGOA to HUE

Hi I am leaving for Vietnam for three weeks on Oct 25th. I am doing the North to South route and am wondering how pratical it is to travel south from Hanoi and visit the Perfume Pagoa on the way to Hue. Everything I've seen just shows it as a day trip. Will doing it the way I am thinking save me time in the long run?
