I know the kineret is a beautiful lake, but Im wondering, will I (28 years old) be bored silly in Tiberias for 2 weeks? is it easy to get from Tiberias to other cities? its not a very central location...
IMHO, there is nothing to do in Tiberias itself. However, there are many things to do and see in the area (Upper Galilee). Tiberias isn't the ideal base for this. However, if you have a car, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. If you don't, then you'll be spending a little extra time on buses getting to places of interest.

2 weeks in Tiberia is way too long, i'd be bord to death. The city is not so lively and not interesting (culture wise). Your only option is to have a car and drive from there to small trips around the north (explore the golan heights area, the beautiful nature of the north, from east to west. Another thing is you can travel towards the center, a bit south east to Haifa, or Caesarea.. further south to Tel Aviv and such. However, if its something you can change i'd warmely recommed you NOT to stay such a long time in Tiberia. Have a good trip.

Shalom, Shalom: Tiberius (and the Kinneret) affords very little for an active vacation. But as has already been said you can visit many of the places in the north very easily, the distances are only a few kilometers. For instance from Tiberius to the furthest northern city of Kiryat Shemona is less than 60 kilometers, to Haifa is less than 80 kilometers...and even all the way to the Dead Sea is less than 200 kilometers. If you do not have a car, the Egged bus system is very good and the prices are not too outrageous. Martin
