i have a day to spent in Tianjin before catching flight back to malaysia. will reach tianjin around noon time by taking a bullet train from beijing. Any suggestion which hotel to stay, preferably near shopping and old culture street and not too far from the airport.
The airport is a long way out of town, so no hotel will be near that AS WELL AS town. When are you staying and what's your budget like?

I'LL BE IN TIANJIN ON 27/8. WILL TAKE BULLET TRAIN TO BEIJING ON THE ARRIVAL DATE. THEN WILL BE BACK TO TINJIN ON 31/8/09.STAY IN TIANJIN FOR A NIGHT. MY BUDGET NOT MORE THAN RMB 400 PER NIGHT FOR THE HOTEL AND MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT I CAN VISIT FEW TOURIST SPOTS BEFORE I LEAVE TIANJIN.

Try looking after June if you're coming in August. There might be newer hotels by that time which would be better -- newer hotels have better facilities and less run-down. Excuse me, but please do NOT type in all capital letters. That's the online equivalent of yelling at someone and extremely rude. Hardly what you want to be if you're trying to get people to help you.
