The tallest statue of the Buddha in the world is nearing completion. After completion it will be one of the major tourist attractions in Thimphu.This statue will house temmples, meditation halls, conference hall within. The construction of this statue is being funded by a Singaporean millionaire.
In Lonely Planet italian version it says that the farmers who sell their goods at the market come to Thimpu already thursday and friday. Is this true or does the market actually take place only on saturday and sunday ?
Hello!! I will be in Thimphu, Bhutan, for work next week for the first time. I am open to suggestions on what to see and do...I will be busy for work one day, but then have 2 free days on 29 and 30 June. I would love to visit something - a market, anything. Any suggestions? Thanks, Stefi
