I have heard quite a bit about Tumani Tenda. It is about 50 miles from Banjul the capital of Gambia. The farming village community attracts some tourists. It's more of a participating type of tour. At at price rate you might see villagers in play act or go on farming tour. Other activities include forest tours, boat tours, bird watching, fishing lesson, batik lesson, horticultural garden tour cow cart ride and so on.
It's a village of about 300 people. You may stay in a clean mosquito protected hut
which is absolutely a different taste of life or you may stay in some better hotels in Banjul. Most of these hotels tend to charge rates equivalent to the western world. But there are some fairly reasonable ones in Bajul.
